Server Secure Printing Configuration Workflow

Step

Description

  1. Install a Printer

  • Use the  Printer Driver Packager NX/Ridoc Ez Installer NX software to create a printer driver package and install it on the Delegation Server. Refer to Install A Secure Printer for instructions.

  1. Manage the Streamline NX Embedded Applications

  • To use the secure printing functions on a device with the SLNX Embedded Applications installed, configure authentication and print-related settings in [Streamline NX Embedded Settings], and associate the device with a Delegation Server.

  • For details about [Streamline NX Embedded Settings], refer to Manage the SLNX Embedded Settings

  • For details about association with a Delegation Server, refer to Delegation Server Settings.

  1. Configure User Authentication

  1. Register a Printer to a Client Computer

  • Install the printer driver of the device to be used on the computer with RICOH Streamline NX PC Client installed, and configure an SLNX Secure Print Port.

  1. Optional: Configure the Fail Over function

  • A device can be associated with multiple Delegation Servers. When a communication problem occurs between the device and the primary server and the server does not respond, operations can be temporarily switched to a secondary server. Specify the priority of the Delegation Servers in advance.

  • For details, refer to Balance Server Workload

  1. Optional: Specify a Delegate User

  • Five delegate users can be specified for each user.

  • For details about managing user information, refer Register Local Users

  1. Optional: Configure the Print Job Data Storage Period and Automatic Delete Setting

  • Configure the storage period for stored jobs and specify whether or not to delete stored jobs after printing.

  • Refer to Delegation Server Settings.

  1. Optional: Configure the MFP Paper/Toner Warning

Only a user logged in with Customer Engineer rights can configure this feature.

  • When a user logs in to an MFP to release a secure print job, this configuration will pop up a warning indicating that the MFP is out of paper and/or toner. If this option is not configured, the job will release from the secure print queue, but will not print on the device.

  • Refer to Configure the Out of Paper / Toner MFP Popup.
