Mail Servers

Configure one or more mail servers that may be used within SLNX to send/receive emails. Configure IMAP, POP3, Exchange EWS, Gmail, or SMTP.

Supported Microsoft Exchange Servers include Exchange Server 2013, Exchange Server 2016, Exchange Server 2019 and Exchange Online (Office 365).

Prerequisites

If setting up either Exchange EWS or Gmail, refer to the following topics BEFORE completing the setup below:

To configure a new mail server:

  1. Click [System][Mail Servers].
  2. Enter a unique Mailbox Name for each new protocol you set up.

You will identify this mailbox by this name when choosing the Mail Server option in Networking and when configuring Print By Mail Configuration Prerequisites.

Configure IMAP

OAuth2

Enable this field to allow SLNX to connect to an OAuth 2.0-based external identity provider. If enabled, complete the following fields to identify the application:

  • Client ID: Copy the [Application (client) ID] to this field.
  • Tenant ID: Copy [Directory (tenant) ID] to this field.
  • Client Secret: Enter the Client Secret.
Security

Specify whether or not to use a secure connection.

  • None: The connection is not encrypted.

  • SSL: The connection is encrypted.

  • StartTLS: The connection is initially created over plain text. If the server supports the StartTLS command, the connection is updated to an encrypted channel.

Server Address Enter the service address. For example: outlook.office365.com
Port Number Enter the connection port. The default port is 143.

Account Name

Enter the account name you want to use for authentication.

Password

Click Change, and then enter the password to use for authentication.

Configure POP3

Enable this field to allow SLNX to connect to an OAuth 2.0-based external identity provider. If enabled, complete the following fields to identify the application:

  • Client ID: Copy the [Application (client) ID] to this field.
  • Tenant ID: Copy [Directory (tenant) ID] to this field.
  • Client Secret: Enter the Client Secret.

  • None: The connection is not encrypted.

  • SSL: The connection is encrypted.

  • StartTLS: The connection is initially created over plain text. If the server supports the StartTLS command, the connection is updated to an encrypted channel.

Polling Interval

Enter the polling time in minutes. For example, the system will poll for new email every minute default.

Server Address Enter the service address. For example: outlook.office365.com
Port Number Enter the connection port. The default port is 143.

Account Name

Enter the account name you want to use for authentication.

Password

Click Change, and then enter the password to use for authentication.

Configure Exchange EWS

Enable this field to allow SLNX to connect to an OAuth 2.0-based external identity provider. If enabled, complete the following fields to identify the application:

  • Client ID: Copy the [Application (client) ID] to this field.
  • Tenant ID: Copy [Directory (tenant) ID] to this field.
  • Client Secret: Enter the Client Secret.

Polling Interval

Enter the polling time in minutes. Default is 1 minute.

Server Address

Enter the service address. For example: outlook.office365.com

Supported Exchange Server versions are Exchange Server 2013, Exchange Server 2016, Exchange Server 2019 and Exchange Online (Office 365).

Port Number Enter the connection port. The default port is 143.

Account Name

Enter the account name you want to use for authentication.

Password

Click Change, and then enter the password to use for authentication. If OAuth2 is enabled, this field is not editable.

Configure Gmail

Service Account

Enter the service account name that will be used to send email.

Private Key

Enter the private key.

Polling Interval

Enter the polling time in minutes. Default is 1 minute.

Port Number Enter the connection port. The default port is 143.

Account Name

Enter the account name you want to use for authentication.

Configure SMTP

Security

Specify whether or not to use a secure connection.

  • None: The connection is not encrypted.

  • SSL: The connection is encrypted.

  • StartTLS: The connection is initially created over plain text. If the server supports the StartTLS command, the connection is updated to an encrypted channel.

Authentication Method

Select one of the following authentication methods:

  • [None]

  • [POP Before SMTP]

  • [SMTP]

The default is [None].

POP3 Server Address

Required if you select POP Before SMTP.

Enter the POP3 server address.

POP3 Port Number

Required if you select POP Before SMTP.

Enter the port number of the POP3 server.

The default is 110.

SMTP Server Address Enter the address of the SMTP server.

Sender Email Address

Enter the sender’s e-mail address.
SMTP Port Number Enter the port number of the SMTP server. The default is 143.

Account Name

Enter the account name you want to use for authentication.

Password

Click Change, and then enter the password to use for authentication.

Test Mail Address

Enter the e-mail address to send a test e-mail.
