MIE Server Configuration
If your system configuration requires proxy support to connect to external mail servers (for example, when configuring Print by Mail), you can configure the proxy settings in this screen. These settings will apply to all MIE servers configured in the system and all connections will be routed through the proxy.
-
Click [System] → [Server Management] → [MIE Server Configuration].
-
Complete the settings described in the table below. Click [Save] when finished.
Field Description Use Proxy Server Select On to enable a proxy server for all MIE servers. The proxy support is added to the MIE server when it connects to other server. Proxy Server Address Enter the IP Address of the proxy server. Proxy Server Port Number Enter the communication port. The default port is 8080. Use Authentication If authentication is required for the proxy server, select On, and then complete these fields:
-
User Name
-
Password
-
Domain Name
-
Exceptions List: When a proxy is configured, the proxy may receive a request for localhost, and it is interpreted as its own machine, rather than the originating MIE server. As a result, if MIE and DS are installed on the same machine, you must add "localhost" to the Exception list to ensure the proxy is bypassed. If MIE and DS are installed on separate machines, MIE will connect to DS using the actual hostname or IP, and no exception is needed.
