Install the Certificate on a Mobile Device

To use the SLNX mobile app, install the SSL certificate file on an iOS device for secure communication. The following section shows the procedure for installing the SSL certificate file attached to an e-mail message sent from the administrator:

Installing the Certificate on iOS Device

Firefox browser app is used as an example in the following procedure:

  1. In the e-mail app on the mobile device, open the e-mail message sent from the administrator.

  1. Tap the "SLNX CA" file attached to the message.

  2. In the certificate installation screen, tap [Install].

If a warning screen appears, tap [Install] to proceed.

  1. When "SLNX CA" is installed, tap the "Domain Name" file to install the file in the same way as Step 3.

  2. Enable "SLNX CA" on the [Settings]    [General]    [About]    [Certificate Trust Settings] screen.

  3. When the installation is completed, start a Firefox browser app, and then enter the URL of the server for the mobile app to connect to the server.

For example, if the domain name of the server is "domainname.com" and the port number is "53443", enter as follows:

domainname.com:53443

  1. Enter the user name and password of SLNX.

You cannot use the administrator account for authentication. The "IPP Servlet" page appears if authentication is successful.

  1. Start the SLNX mobile app, and then enter the authentication information and destination to connect to the server.

If authentication fails, consult the administrator for the correct user name and password.

Installing the Certificate on Android Device

Firefox browser app on Android 8.0 or later is used as an example in the following procedure:Save the "SLNX CA" and "Domain Name" files sent from the administrator in the internal storage of the mobile device.

  1. Start the [Settings] app on the mobile device.

  1. Tap [Security & Location].

  2. Tap [Encryption & credentials].

  3. Tap [Install from storage] in [Credential storage].

  4. Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen.

  5. In [Open from,], tap the location where the certificate is stored.

  6. Tap the "SLNX CA" file.

  7. If you trust the certificate, enter the PIN code, pattern, or password to unlock the mobile device.

  8. Tap [OK].

  9. Enter the name of the certificate.

  10. Select either [VPN and apps].

  11. Tap [OK].

  12. Install the "Domain Name" file using the same procedure as explained in Steps 7-12.

  13. When the installation is completed, start a Firefox browser app, and then enter the URL of the server for the mobile app to connect to the server.

For example, if the domain name of the server is "domainname.com" and the port number is "53443", enter as follows:
