Import or Export Workflow Profiles

The export and import feature allows you to copy profiles between Core servers. If you need to change the Core server, use this function to export the existing workflow profiles, and then import them into the new Core server.

To export a profile:

  1. Click [Workflow] ®[Workflow Profile] ®[Profile Configuration].

  2. Select the workflow profile, and then click [Export data to files].

The export creates a .zip file. Note that the Profile icon and the Workflow Icon are not included in an export.

If using a Firefox web browser, the download process may delay if the profile contains multiple groups and/or multiple complex workflows. If the download fails, attempt the download in another web browser such as Microsoft Edge.

To import a profile:

  1. Export the profile from the Core Server.

  2. Choose the export location for the .zip file. Transfer the .zip file to a location where you can retrieve it from the target Core Server.

  3. On the new Core Server, click [Import data from files].

The following validation rules apply during import:

  • If the imported profile name does not exist in the target server, it is added as a new profile with the same name in source server.

  • If a profile with the same name already exists in the target server, the imported profile will be renamed by the system with format <source profile_ name>(sequential number) and added as a new profile to the target server.

  • All profile settings are validated. If an error is detected, the import operation will fail with an error message to specify the problem(s).

‘Target Devices/Groups’ for MFP profiles and ‘Target Servers/Groups’ for Hot Folder /’Capture’ profiles will NOT be exported due to reason that the availability of devices and DS servers are specific to each Core server.
