Print Rules for Mac Printing

Note the following limitations to print rules when using a Mac client:

• Print rule criteria that are based on destination printer will not be evaluated because Mac clients do not support Direct Print.

• Print rule criteria that are based on job cost will not be evaluated because Mac clients do not support direct print and cost calculations require a destination printer.

• Job routing actions Allow Deny and Hold are supported while Redirect to Printer are not supported.

• Confirm action to include cost information is not supported because Mac clients do not support direct print and cost calculations require a destination printer.

• The option to Send Email action is not supported.

• If a target device or device group is specified, rules are applied no matter which target device is used to print to.

• Cost Center display or selection is not supported.

• Delegation printing is not supported.

• Send e-mail action is not supported.

• Job cost criteria are not supported.

• Any changes to a print rule will not be communicated to the Mac client until the client is restarted.
