Change the Display Settings

Here are the settings you can configure in [Display] Settings.

 

Change the Default Country Setting

The region setting of the operating system installed on the Core Server is set by default as the country setting in the Management Console. When the system is being operated in more than one country, it is recommended to specify the country where the number of the devices to be managed is the largest for the default setting.

  1. Click [System] → [Server Settings] → [Display].

  1. In [Country Setting], select a country.

  2. Click [Save].

You can change the default country. The selected country is applied to Activation, Embedded Applications, and Power Usage.

 

Change the Date Display Format

  1. Click [System] → [Server Settings] → [Display].

  1. In [Date Display Format], select how the dates will be displayed in the application. Options are:

    • [YYYY/MM/DD]

    • [MM/DD/YYYY]

    • [DD/MM/YYYY]

  2. Select value for First [Day of Week]. Options are:

    • [Sunday]

    • [Monday]

    • [Tuesday]

    • [Wednesday]

    • [Thursday]

    • [Friday]

    • [Saturday]

  3. Click [Save].

 

Configure Device Custom Properties

Configure Custom Properties to save device specific information as a device property.

For example, you can create an item name such as control number or asset number and save the value of the created item on each device.

The custom properties are displayed on the [Optional Properties] tab in [Device Properties]. To configure a value in the Custom Properties, select a device in the device list, and then click [Optional Properties] → [Custom Property].

You might have encountered custom properties set in [System] → [Security] → [Custom Properties]. Those properties are intended for users, while custom properties in [System] → [Server Settings] → [Display] are for device properties.

By configuring a device custom properties, you can enter the actual values for each device in the custom fields.

  1. Click [System] → [Server Settings] → [Display].

  1. In [Custom Properties], click [Configure Custom Properties].

    A pop-up dialog displays 20 custom properties.

    1. Double-click on one of the custom properties.

    2. In the box, input the name of the property.

    3. Click (Save).

    If you want to find a specific property, use the filter feature.

  1. Click [Save].

Renaming the custom properties allows you to identify the property when it get displayed on the device's device properties.

After configuring the custom properties, you may need to log in and out of SLNX to see the properties displayed on device properties.

 

Set Screen Lock

  1. Click [System] → [Server Settings] → [Display].

  1. Enable or disable [Screen Lock].

    This will specify whether or not to switch the display to the login screen when the Management Console has not been used for a specific period of time. When you enter the password on the login screen, operation resumes with the previous displayed status.

  2. When [Screen Lock] is enabled, set the [Screen Lock Timer].

    Specify how long the device waits before turning on [Screen Lock] automatically.

    Specify from the following range: 1–1440 minute(s)

    The default is 30 minutes.

  3. Click (Save).

 

Change Dashboard Display Period

  1. Click [System] → [Server Settings] → [Display].

  1. In [Dashboard], check or uncheck [Use current period as Most Recent].

    Specify whether or not to treat the current period as the most recent.

    For example, the current period is treated as the period to be displayed on the dashboard even if there are two weeks left until the current period ends.

  2. Click (Save).

 

Change Device Display Name Format

Change how the devices are displayed on the application.

By default devices are displayed in this format: $[model]$ ($[ip]$)

Where Model is the device's model name followed by a space and a "(", then the device's IP Address, then an eding character ")"

To change how devices are displayed, follow the steps below.

  1. Click [System] → [Server Settings] → [Display].

  1. In [Device Display Name Format], set a new format by adding variables using the right-click menu.

    The items to be included in the display name can be entered manually or selected from the list of variables.

    Here is the list of variables you can add.

    • [Model Name]

    • [Address]

    • [Serial Number]

    • [IP Address]

    • [MAC Address]

    • [Host Name]

    • [Vendor Name]

    • [WIM Location]

    • [WIM Comment]

    • [PPM]

    • [Custom Property] 1–10

  2. Click (Save).
