Work from Home Client

SLNX can monitor and track printing done from home through a Work from Home (WfH) Client service. Users working from home must install the WfH Client application to run the service that connects with the SLNX Core using the PC Client security connection key. The WfH service will monitor all network and USB printers defined on WfH workstation, then the devices are displayed in SLNX Admin tool for monitoring. This feature also supports non-Ricoh printers.

Collected Device Information

Network Printers: The following information will be retrieved from network printers, if supported by the device: 

  • Generic Items: Manufacturer, Model, Serial Number, Mac Address, Location, Comment, Installed Memory

  • Status Items: System Status, Printer Status

  • Device Counters: Total, Printer Black, Printer Color Full, Fax Black, Fax Color, Copy Black, Copy Color Full, Fax Send, Duplex, A3/DLT, Total Color, Total Mono, Scanner Send Mono, Scanner Send Color

  • Supplies: Toner Levels

USB Printers: The following information will be retrieved from network printers, if supported by the device:

  • Generic Items: Manufacturer, Model, Serial Number, Installed Memory, Comment

  • Status Items: System Status, Printer Status

  • Device Counters: Total, Printer Black, Printer Color Full,

Limitations

Before proceeding to install and monitor WfH devices, note the following limitations:

  • Devices cannot be selected as Monitored Devices for Notification Policies.

  • Devices cannot be used for any configuration tasks including workflow deployment.

  • WfH does not support SLNX request polling feature.

Note that the WfH services does not connect to the Delegation Server, and the WfH Client application installation is necessary to enable this feature. BEFORE the user completes the installation, you must complete the Set Device Discovery and Polling task.
