Change a Device’s WfH State

To enable tracking for the WfH device, you must change the state of the WfH device to Accepted in the Management Console.

  1. Login to Streamline NX.

  1. Click [Devices List]⟶ [Hostname]⟶ [WfH].

  2. Select the WfH device.

  3. On the Device Properties window, select Work from Home tab.

  4. Click the State dropdown menu and select the desired state.

  5. Click Save (the icon is located at the top of the Hidden Device (WfH) tab).

The table below shows the result of changing the WfH devices state:

Pending or Ignored

Accepted

  • The WfH device will be tracked.

  • The device information will be posted in the device properties tab.

  • For newly discovered devices, the device properties will display empty until the next device polling interval.

  • If the device was previously accepted, the previous data will be displayed in the device properties. Please wait for the next device polling interval to retrieve the latest device information from WfH device.

  • Generating device reports will include WfH devices with “Accepted” state.

  • If an ignored device is accepted, the device will become visible in Device list WfH group.

Accepted or Ignored

Pending

  • The WfH device will not be tracked, and the device information will not be collected during device polling.

  • Information in device properties will not be updated.

  • Device printing information will not be collected.

  • The device will not be included when generating reports.

  • If an ignored device is set to pending, the device will become visible in Device list WfH group.

Pending or Accepted

Ignored

  • The WfH device will not be tracked, and the device information will not be collected during device polling.

  • The device will not be included when generating reports.

  • The device will be moved from Device list WfH group to Hidden devices (WfH) tab. To view this tab, right-click on WfH group and select Display Hidden Devices.    

WfH device polling can be modified in Set Device Discovery and Polling.
