Password

Select [None], [Type 1], or [Type 2] for the password policy of the device.

Lockout/Release

Specify whether to enable or disable the user lockout function.

Number of Attempts before Lockout

If you enable the lockout function, you must specify a number from 1 to 10 to indicate the number of attempts at password entry the user can make before being locked out.

Lockout Release Timer

If you enable the lockout function, you must specify whether to enable or disable lockout release.

Lock Out User for

If you enable the lockout release, you must specify how many minutes must elapse before the lockout is released.

 

Remote Firmware Update

Permit Firmware Update

Specify whether to permit firmware updates.

Permit Firmware Structure Change

Specify whether to permit changes to the firmware structure.

Permit Automatic Remote Firmware Update

Specify if automatic remote firmware updates can be pushed to the device.

When this setting is enabled, any firmware updates that are bundled with a Configuration task will be automatically applied to the target device(s).

If disabled, automatic remote firmware update is not permitted.

By default (Create from Blank), this setting is set to Off.

 

Data Overwrite

Description

Auto-erase Memory DOSS

Erases the memory automatically when set to On. Not, when set to Off.

DOSS Overwrite Type

Specify how DOSS handles overwriting the information. Options are:

  • NSA - If selected, data will be overwritten that conforms to the standards of the National Security Agency (NSA).

  • DoD - If selected, data will be overwritten that conforms to the standards of the Department of Defense (DoD).

  • Random Number - If selected, the data will be overwritten by random numbers.

Overwrite number

Select the overwrite process. Options are from 1-9 times.

 

Information Protect

Personal Information Protect

  • If set to Off, all users can view the job history.

  • If set to On, only the administrator can view the job history.

This function will become effective after the device reboots.

Encryption

Data Encryption Status

When set to On, the drive encryption status of each drive types listed below will be displayed on the Device Properties.

  • HDD standard

  • Optional HDD

Drive Encryption Status information will be retrieved during other polling.
