Manage External Administrators and Custom Privileges

Functions linking external-administrator privileges and custom privileges allow you to create administrator accounts with customized privileges for devices.

When these functions are enabled, the users with the accounts registered as administrators on Active Directory/LDAP servers (External Administrator Groups) can log in to devices as administrators.

For details about these functions, see <Functions Linking External-Administrator Privileges and Custom Privileges> and <Functions Linking External-Server Account Groups and Administrator Privileges> provided with each device.

This feature is available for devices released in 2018 or later and with Streamline NX Embedded Applications Type Smart installed.

This function is not available for laser printers.

Requirements

  • The following configurations are necessary to restrict the settings that the general users can change while using functions linking external-administrator privileges and custom privileges. For details, refer to the User Guide provided with each device.
