Install the DM Agent Deployment Tool

Depending on how you set up your servers and connect your devices, the DM Agent application works on both cloud and on-premise devices to perform simple polling only – device status, counters, and some main properties can be retrieved from the devices. You can use the Deployment tool to deploy the DM Agent application to various MFPs, and also to update firmware as needed.

[Cloud/Hybrid] For Ricoh SOP device management in a cloud configuration, you must install the DM Agent application on all Ricoh SOP devices because the servers in the cloud cannot communicate with any devices that are on-site. After installation, the agent will initiate all communication to the cloud.

Installation Requirements

The PC running the tool must have connectivity to the MFPs which will have DM-Agent installed/uninstalled and/or Firmware Update.

The tool runs on the following operation systems.

  • Windows Server 2019 Standard/Essentials/Datacenter (64-bit)
  • Windows Server 2022 Standard/Essentials/Datacenter (64-bit)
  • Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Windows 11 (64-bit)

During installation, DM Agent detects the type of device it is running on, and adjusts to either AES-128 or AES-256 as needed.

Install the DM Agent Deployment Tool

  1. Right-click on the installer “SetupDMAgentDeployTool” and choose 'Run as Administrator'. You can find this tool in the SLNX Installer, Tools subfolder.

    If Amazon Corretto 8 is not found on the machine, a step to install it will be shown. When clicking “Install” it will automatically install the Amazon Corretto.

  2. Select the language to use. The tool supports 14 languages.

  3. Click [OK].

  4. Click [Next] to see the License Agreement screen.

  5. Read the License Agreement then select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click [OK]].

  6. Select the destination folder. A folder is selected by default.

  7. Click [Install] to install the tool.
